Acrylic, black canvas 80/90cm
original technique called "plyontanism"
2026
This artwork depicts five storks in dynamic flight over vast, water-logged wetlands beneath a deep night sky and a crescent moon. In Ukrainian tradition, the stork (leleka) is a sacred bird and a powerful national symbol. It embodies love for the homeland, family well-being, loyalty, and rebirth. The canvas is executed in the unique, signature technique of "Pliontanism," which relies on patiently weaving the image from thousands of thin, intersecting colored lines. This complex linear matrix grants the sky a pulsating, almost electrical texture that contrasts sharply with the smoothly rendered, realistic bodies of the birds in flight. The painting seamlessly merges the monumental serenity of nature with an underlying emotional tension and deep patriotic meaning
