Ihor Bychkivskyy (*1970, Lviv, Ukraine)

Ihor Bychkivskyy was born in the historical city of Lviv. Since 2000, he has been living in Prague, where he has devoted his free time to painting since 2007. His inspiration arises from a wide range of subjects—landscapes, flowers, animals, human figures, still lifes, and abstract compositions.

Although he does not align himself with any specific artistic movement, his style is closest to new impressionism. He paints primarily with oil using a palette knife, creating artworks full of rich textures, dynamic color palettes, and emotional clarity.

Recently, he began painting in an original technique called "plyontanism."(from the Ukrainian word "plyontaty" - to weave, intertwine, thread) in which paint is applied in thin colored lines that intertwine at different angles, creating the effect of volume and luminescence.

"The world is too dynamic and modern. That's why I sometimes miss the colorfulness I seek in my paintings.

He has been exhibiting regularly since 2008, with more than twelve solo and group exhibitions. Since 2014, he has been a member of the Free Association of Artists of South Bohemia, and since 2018 also part of an international artists' group in Maribor, Slovenia, participating annually in a European Union–supported plein air symposium.
